As we close out an accident free and injury free 2013, we continually strive for stronger Health, Safety, Security and Environmental goals. As part of strengthening these goals, SCE’s Corporate Health & Safety Officer (HSO) Dale Nat has implemented a new policy for all field workers.

SCE now requires that each individual working on our job sites have puncture resistant foot protection. When working on any construction site or other sites where there may be a possibility of receiving a puncture injury, SCE’s HSO feels that it is important to prevent injury from sharp objects that could result in a puncture wound to the foot through the sole of a steel-toed boot. In order to provide this added protection, SCE will require all field staff to wear steel-toed safety boots which comply with ASTM F2413 and provide puncture resistant protection effective January 1, 2014.

As part of our Company’s safety initiative, SCE has purchased these ASTM compliant boots for all workers.
