corp_barge1SCE is building the first mobile, self contained waste treatment barge to service South America and the Caribbean.  This 205′ barge will house a multitude of treatment options for a variety of waste streams.

As part of SCE’s “Barge Based Treatment Technology” (BBTT) program, SCE will manage waste at locations throughout Countries in this region.  Impacted soils and sludge’s will be managed at temporary storage facilities which will be constructed by SCE and strategically located depending on the project(s) and port location.  When the target amount of material is reached at this location, SCE will deploy their Mobile Treatment barge to the nearest port of call to begin to accept and treat the waste.  Currently, the large petroleum companies load their waste (soils and sludges) onto shipping containers and transport it back to the United States; this is extremely expensive and logistically challenging. With SCE’s BBTT, waste will be brought to our treatment facility from the job sites, processed by SCE and then returned to its place of origin as clean fill. This state-of-the-art technology will give SCE’s Clients assurance for total destruction in the “cradle to grave” environment.

SCE’s barge will be capable of treating petroleum, chlorinated, metals, and impacted soils and sludge’s through a variety of technologies.  These technologies include: low temperature thermal desorption, chemical oxidation, high-flow pump and treat, total-phase extraction, vacuum-enhanced groundwater extraction, air-sparging, soil-vapor extraction, product recovery, chemical oxidation, nutrient injection system, soil washing, and soil stabilization / fixation.  Barge based equipment will include an incinerator, pug mill, screening plant, multiple vacuum pumps and fluid recovery equipment, and in-line monitoring. All equipment and controls will be fully integrated, maximizing efficiency and ensuring accurate data collection and treatment.

This mobile treatment equipment will be docked in New Providence, Bahamas.
