2, Feb – 2014 – SCE is mobilizing to the World Trade Center site to remove asbestos containing materials (ACM) contained within concrete located beneath a PATH track nearly 50′ below the ground.

SCE crews will be working on Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) is a rapid transit railroad serving Newark, Harrison, Hoboken, and Jersey City in metropolitan northern New Jersey andManhattan in New York City. It is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

PATH trains run 24 hours a day and is one of only five mass-transit rail lines in the United States to do so. The system has a route length of 13.8 miles (22.2 km), not including any route overlap.  As of 2012, PATH had an average weekday ridership of 262,900, making it one of the busiest rapid transit systems in the United States.

SCE crews will work 24 hours per day over the weekend to ensure the track can be restored and back on line promptly.
