Dale R. Nat, SCE’s Director of Health & Safety, has announced the upcoming 3rd and 4th Quarter 2011 training schedule for SCE personnel.

The monthly training includes asbestos awareness training, Advanced Confined Space Entry including OSHA “hands on” Confined Space Training (OSHA’s regulations 29 CFR 1910.146), HDPE Pipe Fusion training, OSHA 8 hour Supervisory Course (OSHA’s regulations 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(8)), HAZMAT 29CFR1910 .120(q)(6)(v): HM Incident Commander, Aerial Lift Safety Training, Fall Hazard and Working above-ground, and PA Dig Safely – Call before you Dig.

In addition, 44 of SCE’s personnel attended the ExxonMobil Loss Prevention Safety (LPS) training courses in the 2nd and 3rd Quarter of 2011.  This LPS training is used to prevent or reduce losses using behavior-based tools and proven management techniques.  All employees use these LPS tools as part of their daily routines.  Behavioral based studies require regular observation of individuals carrying out their normal activities.  Feedback is given on their performance and areas for improvement.

Most training is conducted at the SCE state-of-the-art training facility in Mt. Cobb, PA.  This facility includes theater style seating, full A/V capabilities and hands-on training capabilities.
