The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry is pleased to announce that SCE Environmental Group, Inc. (SCE) of Dickson City, PA has been awarded the 2010-2011 Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence.
This prestigious award is a highly competitive award and is presented to companies that provide a safe work environment for Pennsylvania’s workers. With over 85,000 companies located in the Commonwealth, the Department of Labor & Industry has selected SCE as an award recipient.
This nomination requires a complete commitment by employers and employees. For this reason, Governor Rendell’s safety initiative provides Pennsylvania employers and employees with the information and technical assistance needed to develop comprehensive safety practices in the workplace. It also recognizes the successful employer-employee joint safety programs, which result in the achievement of safety excellence.
A site visit was conducted in September by members of the Department’s safety team for review of SCE’s comprehensive safety programs. During this presentation, SCE showcased their commitment to Safety as well as displayed their overall cultural of safety in the workplace.
A special luncheon was held at the annual Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Conference in Hershey, PA in which SCE was presented with their award in front of over 1,100 attendees.
